Holding Steady While the Solution Catches Up

Recently, I had a conversation with a business owner who was carrying a lot.
He talked openly about what felt heavy, what wasn’t working, and everything he was trying to do to keep the business moving forward. There was a moment where I could feel how much he wanted answers, the kind that would make the stress ease just a little.
As we kept talking, something interesting emerged.
When I explained how I support clients operationally, the areas I look at, the way I bring structure and clarity, it became clear that he already had thoughtful ideas in each of those places. He had plans and understood what needed attention. He wasn’t stuck in confusion.
What he was experiencing wasn’t an operational breakdown at all; it was pressure.
Work was piling up. Revenue depended on getting that work done. And the missing piece was simply another person. He was already posting the job, interviewing, and doing everything within his control to bring someone on. The stress and pressure came from the waiting, not from a lack of operational clarity.
It was a tough and honest realization, not because there wasn’t a way I could help, but because the right support in that moment wasn’t me or my services. It was reassurance, perspective, a reminder that sometimes the hardest part of business is continuing to move forward while the solution is still in motion.
We ended the conversation as two business owners, sharing the reality of what it’s like to hold responsibility and uncertainty at the same time. I offered a few thoughts, encouraged him to keep going, and trusted that what he was doing would work out in time.
The conversation stayed with me.
Because sometimes operational support isn’t what needs to be prioritized. Sometimes the plan is already in place. Sometimes what’s needed is a heart-to-heart, a steady voice, and the permission to keep pushing through one more day.
Clarity doesn’t always mean changing course. Sometimes it means recognizing that you’re already doing what you can.
Warmly,
Jazmin
